Wei Yang (b. 1994, Liuzhou) is an artist living between Liuzhou and Frankfurt am Main. Through painting, sculpture, and performance, Yang explore human experience as a geographic and diasporic entity. By layering memories of intimacy, belonging, and friendship, he creates hybrid images drawn from folklore, myth, marginalized histories, and personal landscapes. These serve as sites that question grand narratives and archival neglect.

Yang's work has been shown at Centro Cultural Las Cigarreras, Alicante (2024); Carme Contemporary Culture Center, Valencia (2024); Gold+Beton, Cologne (2023); Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam (2022); Tank Shanghai (2019); and Tabula Rasa Gallery, Beijing (2018). In collaboration with Zishi Han, their project Hairpin Beneath has been exhibited at Tropez, Berlin (2024); Memphis, Linz (2024); Pols, Valencia (2024); Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen (2024); West Den Haag, The Hague (2024); Delfina Foundation, London (2023); and Pickle Bar, Berlin (2023). They have upcoming duo exhibitions include SculptureCenter, New York; Politikens Forhal, Copenhagen in 2025.
